For the first time, RMI is taking its annual symposium to the West Coast. This year's conference,
RMI2009: From Ideas to Solutions, will be held in San Francisco, California, October 1-3, 2009. RMI2009 will bring together leaders in technology and industry for two days of focused conversation and comprehensive workshops on the challenges presented and the opportunities offered by the transition from fossil fuels to energy efficiency and renewables. Throughout these two days, experts in the field will explore topics such as:
- Reinventing Fire
- Nuclear Power: Climate Fix or Folly?
- Corporations Leading Change
- Partnering to Accelerate Change
- Next-Generation Campus
- Greening your Home
- Natural Capitalism in Action
- Now What? Breakthrough Philanthropy
- And many more...
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about RMI's current initiatives and game-changing projects, including the 2009 project sponsored by RMI's National Solutions Council (Smart Garage+).
Confirmed panelists include: Ray Anderson (Interface), Janine Benyus (Biomimicry Guild), Peter Darbee (PG&E), Paul Holland (Foundation Capital), Bill Joy (Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers), Tony Malkin (Empire State Building), Bonnie Nixon (Hewlett-Packard), David Orr (Oberlin College), Peter Rumsey (Rumsey Engineers), and Adam Werbach (Saatchi & Saatchi S.).
Perhaps the most important aspect of RMI's annual symposium is the opportunity for participants to network, both formally and informally, with like-minded individuals.
Throughout this conference, we will be challenging our panelists and attendees to explore how we as a nation (and individuals) can get off fossil fuels. We hope you'll join us at RMI2009, and partner with us in the challenge of winning the fossil-fuel endgame!
